Shericka Jackson will make her season debut in the 100m at Sunday’s Wanda Diamond League meeting in Rabat, Morocco, where a strong Caribbean contingent is also set to compete across multiple events.

The Jamaican sprint star, who owns a lifetime best of 10.65 seconds, has endured a quiet start to her 2025 campaign and will be looking to find rhythm and form ahead of the busy summer schedule. Her season opener in the 100m comes against a competitive field featuring American Cambrea Sturgis (10.87 PB), New Zealand’s Zoe Hobbs (10.96), and the USA's Celera Barnes, who has run 10.94.

Also representing the Caribbean in Rabat are Jamaica’s Rushell Clayton and Andrenette Knight, who line up in a stacked 400m hurdles field that includes Dutch superstar Femke Bol. Bol, the Olympic bronze medallis, will be contesting her first 400m hurdles race of the new season.

Clayton and Knight have both opened their 2025 seasons and are steadily building form. Clayton, a two-time World Championships bronze medallist, and Knight, a consistent Diamond League finalist in recent years, will be aiming for strong performances against the likes of Italy’s Ayomide Folorunso, South Africa’s Zenéy van der Walt, and American Cassandra Tate.

In the men’s high jump, Jamaica’s Romaine Beckford and Raymond Richards will face off against a deep field led by New Zealand’s Hamish Kerr. The Jamaican duo have both cleared 2.30m in their careers and will be looking to improve their 2025 marks in pursuit of World Championship qualification and Diamond League points.

The women’s 800m also features prominent Caribbean names, with Natoya Goule-Toppin of Jamaica and Shafiqua Maloney of St Vincent and the Grenadines entered in a competitive race that includes Uganda’s Halimah Nakaayi, Switzerland’s Audrey Werro, and Ethiopia’s Tsige Duguma. Both Goule-Toppin and Maloney are looking to sharpen their race execution with the World Championships looming in September.
