Head coach Hubert Busby has named a 21-member Reggae Girlz squad to face the United States in an international friendly on June 3 as the Jamaican team continues its steady rebuild ahead of the next FIFA Women’s World Cup qualification cycle.
The goalkeeping unit for the USA clash includes Liya Brooks, Sydney Schneider, and Serena Mensah.
The defensive line will feature Chantelle Swaby, Konya Plummer, Naya Cordoza, Vyan Sampson, and Allyson Swaby.
Midfield duties will be carried by a dynamic group that includes Nyema Ingleton, Solai Washington, Amelia Van Zanten, Olufolasade Adamolekun, Atlanta Primus, and Deneisha Blackwood, all of whom bring versatility and tactical awareness.
Up front, the Reggae Girlz will call on the talents of Kayla McKenna, Reanna Blades, Shania Hayles, Shaniel Buckley, Kameron Simmons, Kalyssa Van Zanten, and Jody Brown.
“What’s really good is the flexibility of players such as Nyema, Vyan, Mimi, and Deneisha, who could also serve as defenders as well,” Busby explained. “That gives us valuable options heading into the game.”
Busby added that two more players could still be added to the roster, pending the completion of passport and citizenship documentation. Once confirmed, an updated 23-player squad will be circulated.
He noted that paperwork is being finalised for Taylor Hinds and Natasha Thomas, while Ciara Jade Mitchell, who came through the U-20 ranks, remains in consideration for the Reggae Girlz’ upcoming match against England.
Later in the session, Busby also took time to acknowledge the retirement of defender Siobhan Wilson, who has officially stepped away from international football.
“She’s been an outstanding servant to her country. A great woman to coach, and a phenomenal teammate,” he said. “We’re definitely going to miss her. But I know she’ll excel in her next chapter. On behalf of the staff and the country—we thank her for her service.”
