St Vincent and the Grenadines completed a dominant sweep of their two-match series against St Kitts and Nevis, cruising to a 3-0 victory at the Chili Playing Field in Georgetown on Sunday to follow up Tuesday’s 3-1 win.

Second-half goals from Clairon Haynes in the 63rd and 74th minutes were the highlight of a commanding display from the home side, with an own goal from St Kitts and Nevis defender Annashime Springer in the 67th minute further compounding the visitors’ misery.

The Vincentians, who had six substitutions, not only found their scoring rhythm in the second half but also held firm defensively—keeping a clean sheet with a squad comprised entirely of local players. That, said head coach Ezra Hendrickson, was a key focus for the team heading into the match.

“Yeah, still our local players,” Hendrickson told Sportsmax.TV on Monday. “You know, it was good that we kept a clean sheet. That’s something that we talked about—not conceding goals. So that was good. And then to get three on the other hand was really good. I think, you know, it's an improvement from the last game.”

“So we want to improve game by game. And I think that's a good sign when we can continue the progress. And that’s something that, you know, I told them after the game—‘Listen, you know, teams like this, we have to make sure that we're ready to play,’ you know, because they're a good team. So showing up, and we’re at home, and keeping a clean sheet and then getting three was something that I was very happy about. So that's always a good sign.”

Hendrickson pointed to increasing tactical cohesion as a major step forward, even with rotation within the squad.

“I think they’re more in tune with the style of play. Yeah, I think so. It's always—even yesterday—it was different guys on the pitch. And whenever you insert, you know, three or four different guys, sometimes it takes a while. But they are understanding the style of play," he said.

“Every player that stepped on the pitch—you could see that they’re learning the way we want to play, and they put in the effort. And so, as a coach, you're happy when you're working on something in training and then you see it on display in the game. And I think that's something that, you know, as a staff, we're very happy about.”
