Shimron Hetmyer was at the crease at the end of proceedings as his Rajasthan Royals finished out their 2025 TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) season with a six-wicket win over the Chennai Super Kings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday.
The Super Kings first posted 187-8 from their 20 overs after being put in to bat by the Royals.
17-year-old opener Ayush Mhatre led the scoring for CSK with 43 off 20 balls including eight fours and a six while South African Dewald Brevis made 42 from 25 balls including two fours and three sixes.
Impact substitute Shivam Dube also played a good hand with 39 off 32 balls including two fours and two sixes.
Pacer Akash Madwhal was the pick of the Rajasthan bowlers with 3-29 from his four overs while another pacer, Yudhvir Singh, also picked up three wickets but was expensive, going for 47 in his four over spell.
The Royals then needed just 17.1 overs to reach 188-4 and end their season on a high.
14-year-old phenom Vaibhav Suryavanshi led the scoring with a 33-ball 57 including four fours and four sixes while captain Sanju Samson hit 41 off 31 balls in support.
Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel also played well for their 36 off 19 balls and 31* off 12 balls, respectively, while Hetmyer was 12* off five balls alongside Jurel to see his team home.
Ravichandran Ashwin picked up 2-41 from his four overs for the Super Kings.
