Kensington Cricket Club are champions of the 2025 Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) Michael Holding Senior Cup after securing a first innings victory over St. Catherine Cricket Club in the final at the Ultimate Cricket Ground in St. Ann over the weekend.
St. Catherine were dismissed for 203 in 50.1 overs on day one after Kensington won the toss and opted to field first.
Wicket-keeper Trevaughn Williams top scored with 60 off 97 balls while opener and captain Carlos Brown made 40 off 69 balls against a balanced bowling effort from Kensington.
Pacer Anthony Dackers led the way with 3-43 from 10 overs while Tamarie Redwood took 2-22 from his five overs of leg spin.
Pacer Jamie Hay (2-37) and left arm spinner Ryan Francis (2-45) also bowled well while the final wicket went to captain Alex Hinds.
Kensington in reply then ended day one 108-2 in 39 overs with David Dewar and Javardi Francis at the crease on 36 and eight, respectively.
Openers Leroy Lugg and Corey Hinds had earlier made 34 and 27, respectively.
On day two, Dewar carried on from his overnight score to make 69 off 104 balls while captain Alex Hinds made 70* off 128 balls as Kensington finished 339-8 at stumps to secure the title.
Nicholson Gordon also made 44* off 70 balls while Denneil Griffith and Jamie Hay made 28 and 27, respectively.
Jeavor Royal took 2-53 from 20 overs while Vitel Lawes took 2-77 from 21 overs for the runners-up.
