Jamaican High Jumper Romaine Beckford produced his best performance of the season to finish on the podium in a stacked field at the Rome Diamond League on Friday.
The 22-year-old former NCAA Indoor and Outdoor champion cleared a season’s best 2.26m on his third attempt to take third place behind South Korea’s Sanghyeok Woo and Ukraine’s Oleh Doroshchuk.
Woo’s winning clearance was 2.32m while Doroshchuk cleared 2.30m.
Beckford opened his competition with first-time clearances of 2.12m, 2.16m and 2.20m before failing once at 2.23m.
He also had three unsuccessful attempts at 2.28m.
