A hat-trick from Jamaican striker Javon East propelled Hapoel Haifa FC to a dominant 5-1 win over Maccabi Haifa in Israeli Premier League action at the Sammy Ofer Stadium on Saturday.
The former Portmore United striker opened the scoring for Hapoel in the 12th minute before doubling their advantage 17 minutes later.
Hapoel got a third before halftime through Malian winger Thiekomo Diarra who got another five minutes into the second half to make it 4-0.
East then completed his hat-trick in the 52nd minute with his fifth goal in 11 games since joining from Costa Rican side Saprissa in January.
Guy Melamed got Maccabi’s only goal 11 minutes from full time.
Hapoel are currently fifth in the Israeli Premier League standings with 48 points from 33 games, 15-points fewer than their Saturday opponents.
