Australia’s Hobart Hurricanes handed the Dubai Capitals their first loss of the 2025 Global Super League season in their second match with a seven-wicket victory at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Friday.

The Capitals posted 141-8 from their 20 overs after being put in to bat by the Hurricanes.

Captain Gulbadin Naib led the way with a 27-ball 31 as Fabian Allen and Mohammad Nabi led the bowling effort with identical bowling analyses.

Both Allen and Nabi finished with figures of 3-21 from four overs the other wickets came from Odean Smith and Usama Mir.

The Hurricanes then needed only 17 overs to reach 142-3 and secure victory.

Captain Ben McDermott and Macalister Wright did the bulk of the scoring for the Australians with a 78-run second-wicket partnership after losing Bhanuka Rajapaksa early for 15.

Wright top scored with 50 off 47 balls including five fours while McDermott his five fours and three sixes in his 24-ball 48.
