2012 Olympic champion Keshorn Walcott took home a silver medal in the men’s javelin silver at the World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze meet — the Motonet GP Lahti – in Finland on June 11.
The Trinidadian, who also medalled at the 2016 Olympics in Rio, had a best throw of 79.98 metres to seal runner-up spot in just his second meet of the season.
That 79.98m throw came in the first round of the competition and was one of only two legal throws Walcott produced.
He threw 79.53m in the second round before fouling in rounds three, four and five. He then passed on his sixth round effort.
Kenyan Julius Yego topped the field with his 82.95m mark while Finnish field athlete Taneli Juutinen was third with a 78.24m distance.
The 32-year-old opened his 2025 campaign on May 16 with a fourth place and 84.65m distance at the Doha Diamond League.
Walcott will stay in Finland until June 17, when he competes in the Paavo Nurmi Games in Turku before returning to the Diamond League circuit in Paris on June 20.
