Pollard tops Brathwaite in battle of BPL big hitters
Windies star batsman Kieron Pollard provided a powerful display of power hitting after scoring a quick fire half century for the Dhaka Dynamites in a final over four wickets win over Khulna Titans in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
Pollard clubbed 55 runs from 24 balls, including six huge sixes as he got the better of Carlos Brathwaite’s Khulna for a third straight win. Striding to the crease with the team needing 14 runs per over to win, it was reduced to eight by the time the batsman completed his magnificent slog with the team recovering from 41 for 5.
Earlier Brathwaite had also put on a sensational display of batting bludgeoning an unbeaten 64 that included six sixes in the last 5.5 overs. The team had found itself mired at 47 for three in the first 10 overs.
Khulna managed just five boundaries in the first 10 overs after being sent to bat. They also lost Michael Klinger, Dhiman Ghosh and Nazmul Hossain Shanto during the same period.
