Though the results were not what he desired when he launched his 2025 campaign in the ADAC GT4 Germany Championship recently, Jamaica’s Tommi Gore took heart from his outing at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, which marked a milestone in both his international racing career and a bold new chapter alongside Israeli teammate Alon Gabbay.
Despite facing a fiercely competitive field, with qualifying margins shaved down to mere fractions of a second, Gore and Gabbay held their own in their debut weekend as a duo—qualifying eighth for Race One and 12th for Race Two under the watchful gaze of 47,000 motorsport fans.
"Alon started Race One, and we fought through some tough battles to finish eighth, which was a solid result to start the season," Gore shared in a post-race reflection.
The second race, however, delivered a hard lesson in the unpredictable nature of motorsport. Taking the wheel for the start, Gore’s charge was cut short before reaching the first turn when another driver attempted what he described as an "overly ambitious move," resulting in contact that ended their race prematurely. The incident was later ruled a racing incident by stewards.
"It was disappointing, no doubt. But there are a lot of upsides to the outing. The car felt great, and the team is working in sync. So that’s a strong foundation for what lies ahead," Gore noted, as he maintains a forward-looking mindset.
Off the track, the weekend was a win in terms of visibility and momentum. Sponsors were given prominent exposure across broadcast and digital platforms, while media attention surrounding the Jamaican driver continued to grow, both in Germany and back home.
Gore’s next outing on the international circuit is slated for July 5–6 at the Norisring, a historic street circuit in Nuremberg that promises another thrilling test of skill. But before then, Gore will return home to Jamaica, where another project is racing toward completion—his Mitsubishi Evolution 8 rally car, which he hopes to debut in local competition by June.
While back on home soil through August, Gore is keen to connect with fans, sponsors, and potential partners for appearances and activations as he remains committed to adding to the motorsport culture in the Caribbean.
"Let’s keep pushing. There are plenty of rounds left to make an impact," he ended.
