Jamaica’s national basketball team has added another high-impact talent to its roster ahead of the FIBA 2027 World Cup pre-qualifiers in August. Power forward Jordan Kellier, fresh off a breakout season at West Chester University and a professional debut in Spain, has officially committed to representing Jamaica on the international stage.

Kellier made the announcement via Instagram, stating:

“My name is Jordan Kellier and I'm pleased to announce that I will be representing Team Jamaica this summer in the World Cup pre-qualifiers. I can’t wait to get to work with my coaches and learn as much as possible from my teammates. Looking forward to this marvellous opportunity. One Love Jamaica. Let’s go.”

The 6'6" Portmore native brings grit, versatility, and a relentless motor to a Jamaica roster that already features NBA-calibre talent like Josh Minott, seasoned pros Norman Powell, Romario Gill, and Kofi Cockburn, as the team begins its campaign toward qualification for the FIBA 2027 World Cup and the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.

Kellier, 27, earned PSAC East Defensive Player of the Year honours in his final collegiate season, averaging a double-double of 12.8 points and 10.7 rebounds per game while starting all 30 games for West Chester. His 17 double-doubles, including 11 in the last 12 games of the season, underscored his consistency and elite rebounding ability. He also contributed across the board with 78 assists, 34 steals, and 23 blocks.

Following his dominant college campaign, Kellier signed his first professional contract with Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa, a team in Spain’s third-tier Segunda FEB league. His journey to the pros included stints at Redemption Christian Academy, Williston State, Utah, and Siena, highlighting a path built on resilience and steady development.

Welcoming him to the squad, Jamaica Basketball described Kellier as “a versatile forward with strength, skill, and a relentless motor,” noting his readiness to bring that energy to the international level.

With a blend of rising and experienced talent, Jamaica’s team is shaping up to be a serious contender in the Americas zone. The addition of Kellier adds both depth and firepower as the Reggae Hoops squad eyes a return to the global stage.
