The Windward Islands Volcanoes are on the verge of an important win over the Barbados Pride in the West Indies Championship game being played at Arnos Vale.

With a day to go, the Volcanoes need 89 runs and have seven wickets in hand.

Middle-order batsman Tevyn Walcott’s half-century spared the Barbados Pride the blushes on the opening day of the match against the Windwards Volcanoes at Arnos Vale on Thursday.

The Windies first day on a square in India has not started particularly well as an Indian Board President’s XI put them to the sword this morning.

Windies A were put to the sword by Surrey batsman, Scott Borthwick on the first day of a tour game in England.

Windies A pacers Chemar Holder and Sherman Lewis tore through the Indian A batting line-up with four wickets apiece to hand the team an early advantage on day 1 of the first unofficial Test at Kent Cricket Ground.
