The Jamaica Tallawahs are planning changes amidst an overhaul to the team that finished at the bottom of the CPL table last season.

Shemar Edwards and Kirk McKenzie, two emerging young cricketers from Jamaica's Kingston Cricket Club were on Monday beneficiaries of full player kits from the Caribbean Premier League franchise, the Jamaica Tallawahs.

Two-time Hero CPL champions, the Jamaica Tallawahs are to remain in Jamaica, sources close to the franchise have told Sportsmax.TV.

Jamaica’s sports minister Olivia Grange said her government is willing to back the Jamaica Tallawahs but simply cannot afford what is required for the franchise to remain in Jamaica for the start of the upcoming CPL season in August.

Jamaica Sports Minister Olivia Grange has confirmed that she has been in discussions with the owners of the Jamaica Tallawahs with the aim of finding a way to keep the franchise in the country.

Jamaica may very well not have a team to support when the Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) begins this year.
