Half-centuries from openers Trevon Griffith and Sherfane Rutherford led Guyana to a comfortable 93-run win over Windward Islands, in Group A of Cricket West Indies (CWI) Super50 Cup in Tarouba on Thursday.

Despite not winning the Regional Super50 title since the 2005-2006 season, captain of the Guyana Jaguars Leon Johnson believes his team has what it takes to go all the way this season.

Shane Shillingford, captain of the defending Super50 champions the Windward Islands Volcanoes, said his team will not be intimidated by the fact that they play against star-studded teams when the competition bowls off on Wednesday.
