Puma, at its Annual General Meeting, bragged about being the fastest apparel sponsor in sport and twinned that claim with an annual report that lasted just 9.58 seconds.

The report, an ode to Usain Bolt and the world record he has over the 100-metre distance, is full of numbers you might miss if you’re not paying attention.

"Our goal is to be the fastest sports brand in the world - and this should of course also be reflected in our annual report," said Ulf Santjer, head of Corporate Communications at Puma.

“This year's annual report and video pays tribute to the world's fastest man and his numerous successes," said Santjer.

The report showed good results for the first quarter with millions in profits above the same period in 2017.

The projections for the rest of 2018 also look even though the company has tried to be conservative because of currency instability that may worsen because of a strained relationship between the United States and China.

Based on those projections, Puma expects between 10 and 12 per cent growth in sales.

Puma will be more specific about its first-quarter performance with precise figures for the various segments and markets on April 24.
