World U20 sprint double champion Briana Williams is revealing that her races against Olympic champions Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Elaine Thompson in the lead up to the U20 championships in Tampere, Finland, helped her become the first Jamaican female to win double sprint titles since Veronica Campbell Brown in 2000.

President of the Jamaica Athletic Administrative Association Dr Warren Blake said he will be writing to the IAAF this week questioning the decision to deny Jamaica’s 100m hurdler Brittany Anderson a gold medal at the recently concluded World U20 Championships in Tampere, Finland.

Briana Williams’ composure under pressure made the difference in the finals of the Women’s 100m finals at the IAAF World U20 Championships in Tampere, Finland on Thursday.

Jamaica’s Janieve Russell is one of the finest 400-metre hurdlers in the world today, but had it not been for a happy mistake, her career might have taken a completely different turn.
