Building on the momentum of its highly successful Easter Camp, the St. Kitts and Nevis Football Association (SKNFA) officially launched its Girls Grassroots Program on Saturday, April 26 at the NBGC Technical Center in St. Peters. The initiative is open to girls born in 2011 and later, and aims to introduce and develop young female football talent across the Federation.

The program kicked off with strong participation, registering over 60 young girls on its opening day. Earl Jones, one of the lead coaches involved in the initiative, expressed enthusiasm about the launch and the growing interest in girls’ football. “I want to say the Easter camp was a real success for us. The girls had a wonderful experience playing the game for the first time. And we didn't intend to stop there. We decided that we're going to start the grassroots program. And the grassroots program is mainly for girls,” Jones said.

He emphasized the long-term goal of the program — to strengthen the foundation of women’s football in St. Kitts and Nevis. “We are in the top five in the Caribbean in terms of technique. And we just got to nurture it,” he added.

The SKNFA Girls Grassroots Program will be held every Saturday at 9:00 AM at the NBGC Technical Center. It provides a safe, supportive, and fun environment for young girls to learn the fundamentals of football, develop teamwork skills, and foster a love for the game.

Interested parents or guardians can contact the SKNFA Secretariat at (869) 466-8502 for more information and registration details.
