Waterhouse FC thrashed Molynes United 4-1 to secure a place in the Jamaica Premier League playoffs in the first match of a triple-header at the UWI-JFF Captain Horace Burrell Centre of Excellence on Friday.

With their fourth win in nine games, Waterhouse jumped to the top of the league table with 16 points and with only a game to go before the end of the league format.

The Marcel Gayle-coached team from Drewsland were ruthless in dispatching Molynes United who lost their top-six spot last week.

Waterhouse got early goals from defender Kymani Campbell in the fourth minute and Shaquille Bradford in the 13th.

Nicholas Nelson of Molynes United scored from the penalty spot in the 29th minute to make it 2-1. However, veteran Damion Binns restored Waterhouse’s two-goal cushion when he converted a 64th-minute penalty while Bradford scored his second goal of the match when he slotted home from an Andre Leslie assist in the 72nd minute.

Bradford, the former Camperdown High Manning Cup captain has now scored four goals this season.

Waterhouse will play Portmore United in their final game next week before the playoff in what will be a mammoth clash as both teams are in with a chance of securing those top two spots that sees them advancing directly to the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, Anthony Patrick-coached Molynes United remained second from the bottom on six points from their nine games. They will be in the playoffs for positions 7-11.
