Jamaican target man Trivante Stewart has swapped Serbia for Israel with a move to Israeli League giants Maccabi Haifa for a club record fee of 1.5 million Euros.
The 25-year-old joins the 15-time Israeli League winners from Serbian club Radnicki Nis for whom the former Mount Pleasant Academy star scored 16 goals in 38 appearances across all competitions last season.
This will be Stewart’s latest opportunity to shine at a European Club.
In August 2023, he moved from Mount Pleasant to Italian Serie A club Salernitana, becoming the third Jamaican player of all time to play in Serie A and the first to arrive on a direct transfer from the Jamaica Premier League.
From there, Stewart was loaned out to Serbian Club Javor Ivanjica in February 2024 before joining Radnicki Nis on a permanent basis in July that year.
Hopefully, this move will also re-ignite Stewart’s international career. He has made only four appearances for the Reggae Boyz with his last coming in 2023.
