South Africa “A” are on the brink of completing a 2-0 sweep of their Four Day matches against West Indies “A,” needing just 32 runs to win heading into Saturday’s fourth and final day at the Daren Sammy Cricket Stadium.

The South Africans, after starting the day 324-7 in 102 overs, were dismissed for 332 in 106.2 overs, giving them a lead of 112 runs.

Ruan de Swardt added only three to his overnight 83 to top score while Anderson Phillip took two of the final three wickets to complete a five-wicket haul.

The West Indies “A” were then dismissed for 211 in 54.4 overs in their second innings.

John Campbell led the way with 59 off 86 balls while captain Jomel Warrican and Johan Layne made 39* and 34, respectively, against 4-52 off 12 overs from Mihali Mpongwana and 3-51 off 16 overs from Tshepo Moreki.

Chasing 100 to win, South Africa “A” ended the day 68-2 in 14 overs with captain Marques Ackerman and Sinethemba Qeshile at the crease on 20 and 19, respectively.

Shamar Joseph has taken both wickets to fall so far.
