Barbados are champions of the 2025 CWI Rising Stars Women’s Under-19 Championship after a seven-wicket win over the Leeward Islands via the DLS Method in the final at the Diego Martin Sports Complex in Trinidad on Saturday.
The Bajans first dismissed the Leewards for 93 in 23.3 overs with only four Leewards batters reaching double figures.
Captain Jahzara Claxton (28) and Aaliyah Weekes (20) led the scoring charge against 3-15 off five overs from Theanny Herbert-Mayers and 3-33 from seven overs from Naijanni Cumberbatch.
Erin Deane and Sabriel Headley evenly split the other four wickets to fall.
Barbados, set a revised target of 72 in 22 overs, reached their target with 9.4 overs to spare.
Asabi Callender led the scoring with 14 while Elecia Bowman and Eboni Brathwaite made 13* and 11*, respectively.
Trinidad & Tobago defeated Jamaica at the Sir Frank Worrell Memorial Ground in the third-place playoff while the Windward Islands beat Guyana at the National Cricket Centre to claim fifth.
