The Guyana Harpy Eagles have put themselves in a strong position to lift a second consecutive West Indies Championship title thanks to an eight-wicket win over the Combined Campuses & Colleges on day three at the Sir Frank Worrell Memorial Ground in St. Augustine on Friday.
CCC started Friday’s proceedings 165-7 off 55 overs leading the Harpy Eagles by 142 runs.
They batted only 9.2 more overs before being dismissed for 203 leaving the Harpy Eagles needing 181 to secure their fifth win in a row.
The Guyanese did just that, needing only 34.5 overs to reach 182-2.
Raymond Perez led the way with 79* while Tevin Imlach hit 50 and Tagenarine Chanderpaul made 42.
Guyana entered round seven third on the points table with 87.2 trailing Barbados (87.6) and the Windward Islands (90). The Leeward Islands are also in the hunt in fourth with 84.6.
