Jamaica’s Jordan Scott continued his career-best season in the men’s triple jump with victory at the Meeting Madrid, a part of the World Athletics Continental Tour-Silver, on Saturday.
Scott, who improved his personal best to 17.52m on his way to victory at the Monaco Diamond League on July 11, produced a best jump of 16.95m in the sixth and final round on Saturday.
He opened his series with fouls in rounds one and two before jumping out to 16.85m in round three.
Round four saw the four-time National champion produce a faulty 14.58m effort before going out to 16.65m in round five then 16.95m in round six.
Cuba’s Cristian Napoles was second with 16.90m while Burkina Faso’s Hugues Fabrice Zango was third with 16.89m.
Elsewhere, Olympic and World champion Hansle Parchment ran 13.27 for second in the 110m hurdles behind Spain’s Enrique Llopis (13.26) while France’s Wilhelm Belocian was third in 13.30.
