Jamaica’s Timor Barrett won the final of the men’s 400 metres at the CIAA Division 2 Indoor Championships at the JDL Fasttrack facility in North Carolina on Monday night.

Evans, who had come through the first 200m in 23.35 surged past Simon all the while closing in the Jamaican but ran out of real estate. His last 200m was timed in 25.95 while Simon (26.31) faded badly over the final half of the race.

Later on Monday, Jamaica’s Shannon Kalawan won the women’s equivalent in a personal best 55.94.
