Gayle-less Rangpur thumped by Narine’s Dynamites
The trio of Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard and Evin Lewis were more than enough to help the Dhaka Dynamites thump a Rangpur Riders side devoid on Chris Gayle.
Lewis could only manage 14 while opening partner Narine, fell for a duck as the Dynamites got off to the worst start imaginable.
They would not recover as sometimes they are wont to do with the big-hitting Pollard just scoring six.
Shakib-al-Hasan was the only man to really put up some resistance, top-scoring with 47 not out from 33 deliveries.
As it turns out, the 137 for seven from Dhaka’s 20 overs was more than enough.
Riders, sans Chris Gayle, were woefully short, only getting to 94 when they ran out of overs.
Windies opener, Johnson Charles, scored 26 of those runs, while England batsman Ravi Bopara was unbeaten on 28.
The two were the only batsmen who showed any resistance to the bowling of Narine, who ended with figures of 1-18 from his four overs.
