St. George's, Holy Trinity and St. Catherine advance to Manning Cup quarter-finals
Many-time champions St George’s College, Holy Trinity and St Catherine High all advanced to the quarter-final round of the ISSA-FLOW Manning Cup Competition on Thursday.
George’s blanked St Jago 4-0 at the Constant Spring Field to advance 5-0 on aggregate following their 2-0 victory at Prison Oval on Tuesday.
In the earlier game at the same venue, Holy Trinity needing to win to remain alive, advanced 4-2 on penalties after they overcame a 2-0 deficit from the first leg of the tie, to win 2-0, forcing the match into extra time and eventually penalties.
St Catherine, meanwhile, advanced 3-1 on aggregate following their 1-1 with Hydel at Prison Oval. St Catherine won the first leg 2-0 at the same venue.
