SportsMax to broadcast hurricane relief cricket match
SportsMax, as part of the aid it is providing to victims of Hurricanes Irma and Maria, will broadcast a charity match between the T&T Red Force and the United Caribbean XI in Trinidad and Tobago on Saturday, October 14 at the Queen's Park Oval.
The match is being played to raise funds for the countries devastated by the hurricanes’ passage in early September.
The Sports Company of TT (SporTT), together with the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board (TTCB) and the Queen’s Park Cricket Club, are partnering in a relief effort, approved by Cricket West Indies.
"In these trying times, SportsMax is led to support any initiative that will help our brothers and sisters to piece their lives back together," said SportsMax CEO Oliver McIntosh.
"The organisers are to be commended for conceptualizing this relief effort and the Home of Champions is proud to be on board,” he added.
The Red Force team will be captained by Kieron Pollard and will feature T&T stars, Darren Bravo, Lendl Simmons, Evin Lewis, Sunil Narine, Shannon Gabriel and Jason Mohammed among others.
Darren Sammy will captain the Caribbean XI that will have the likes of Dwayne Smith, Johnson Charles, Fidel Edwards, Jerome Taylor and 2011 World 100-metre champion Yohan Blake.
Tickets for the match went on sale at all NLCB outlets from Tuesday, October 3. Tickets for adults are TT$100 and children under-12, accompanied by an adult, get in for free.
