Jamaica, Guyana go kart juniors booked for showdown at Georgetown Grand Prix
Jamaica junior go karters will match their skills with Guyanese counterparts at the GT Motorsports Georgetown Grand Prix ‘Caribbean Showdown’ at the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club later this month.
The young contingent will be led by Senna Summerbell, son of Jamaican motor racing star David Summerbell Jr. Joining Summerbell for the competition will be Joshua Sigany and Ryan Lue.
The drivers will match skills with a talent Guyanese group which includes Elan Rahaman, John Phang, Rayden Persaud, Mikhail Persaud, the Tenpow brothers- Jeremy and Justin, Paige Mendonca and Nathan Rahaman.
Summerbell is expected to take part in the X30 Junior category, while Sigany and Lue will challenge in the X30 Senior and 60cc Sun Burst Kids Cup respectively. The meet is also expected to feature top drivers from Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago, and organisers are said to currently in discussion with a view to securing the top talent from the other islands. The event will precede the final leg of the Caribbean Motor Racing Championship, which will be held on November 12 at South Dakota Circuit.
