Castries, St. Lucia –IMC, parent company to the Caribbean’s leading sports channel SportsMax, announced today that it has acquired Caribbean distribution rights for Fox Soccer Plus, the new sports channel, that will complement SportsMax and complete the ultimate football, cricket and rugby fan experience. Fox Soccer Plus launches in fan-friendly high definition today on cable networks throughout the Caribbean and replaces Setanta Sports, which announced that it was exiting the North American and Caribbean markets as of February 28, 2010. Fox Soccer Plus will broadcast all of the football and some of the rugby content that Setanta Sports had broadcast plus will add content from Italian Serie A, England and Sky Sports News..

The new channel, Fox Soccer Plus, will be available through cable operators via the MaxPak subscription package and the smooth transition will see Fox Soccer Plus being made available on the same channel that Setanta Sports was offered. It will show exclusive matches from the Barclays Premier League, the UEFA Champions League, England’s FA Cup, and Italy’s Serie A. Fox Soccer Plus will be offered to cable providers across the Caribbean countries where SportsMax is available as a premium service in the MaxPak tier subscription package.

The transition will also see SportsMax and Fox Soccer Plus being made available only through the MaxPak package as of July 1, 2010, discontinuing the option for subscribers to get SportsMax only and Fox Soccer Channel as part of MaxPak. The MaxPak package price will remain at JMD650 plus GCT for a limited promotional period.
Fox Soccer Plus programming kicks off with an impressive lineup of live soccer matches during the network's first week. Barclays Premier League matches set to air March 6-7 will feature Chelsea and Manchester City while the FA Cup quarterfinals will take centre stage along with Juventus v Fiorentina in the Italian Serie A. Rugby fans will be delighted to see action from the Magners League and Guinness Premiership.
