As they prepare for their next match against Cuba in the CONCACAF Women’s Championships, Reggae Girlz Head Coach Hue Menzies says the team is not taking anyone for granted.

Jamaica plays Cuba at the H-E-Park Stadium in Edinburgh, Texas, with the knowledge that a win, especially a big win would further boost their chances of advancing to the semi-finals and invariably their best shot at qualifying for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Jamaica defeated Cuba 6-1 at the CONCACAF Women’s Qualifiers in Jamaica in September, which would be a further confidence boost coming off their upset 1-0 win over Costa Rica on Monday.

It was why Menzies felt it was necessary to get the players’ feet back on the ground before Thursday’s Cuba encounter.

“We had a very emotional win over Costa Rica. The day after the game, we did recovery and had then go to the movies, just try to get them back to earth and then get back on track this morning,” he told SportsMax.TV.

“We aren’t taking anyone lightly, so we are going to go out and get after it. We need to get a result that puts us to the next round. The players want to get going.”
